Sonic The Hedgehog

I have been a fan of Sonic since I was very young and I have always wanted to try and create him. Here is my take on creating Sonic the Hedgehog. Throughout the project I used Zsphere's in Zbrush to create a rough shape of sonics body and then proceeded to sculpt the shapes individually. I wanted my interpretation to look as close to Sonic as possible. To support this process, I used references from a range of past and present games to get an idea of what type of look, aesthetic and style I needed to create the character. I retopologised the high poly sculpts from Zbrush in Maya and connected all the individual meshes together. I also made a diorama that is inspired from an iconic level in the Sonic games. It is known as the green hill zone. Modelled in Maya, Sculpted in Zbrush, UV unwrapped and rigged in Blender, textured in Substance Painter, rendered in Marmoset Toolbag, Final compositions/edits were done in Photoshop and Premier Pro. The Character is 39K Tris and I used 1x4096 texture map. Thanks for viewing.
